Commemoration of Indonesian Cocoa Day 2018 The 7th Indonesian Cocoa Day commemoration was held from October 25-28th, 2018 at the Orchid Plant Mall Jakarta. The commemoration of the 7th Indonesian Cocoa Day was held in conjunction with the annual Chocotober Festival of the Tulip group supported by the Coordinating Ministry for Food and Economic Affairs, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Trade and the participation of cocoa and chocolate industry companies.
The commemoration of Indonesian Cocoa Day in 2018 was filled with a high-producing cocoa farming competition, a Cocoa FGD with the topic “The Role of the Private Sector in Supporting Increased Indonesian Cocoa Production”; exhibitions, competitions and demonstrations of making cocoa-based food / drinks, and drinking chocolate together.
The winners of the high-producing cocoa farm competition were awarded to farmers and the Department in charge of plantations as technical supervisors. The winners of the cocoa farming competition are:
- First place, Busron Bhar, Saiyo Salayo farmer group, Jorong Galanggang Tengah, Nagari Salayo, Solok Regency, West Sumatra Province.
- Second place, H. Santar, Bukit Subur Farmer Group, Tapango Village, Tapango District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province.
- Third place, Burhanuddin, Horodopi Village, Benoa Sub-district, South Konawe District, Southeast Sulawesi Province.
The 2018 high-producing cocoa farm competition is a collaboration between the Directorate General of Plantations and the Indonesian Cocoa Board and the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Center.
