Indonesian Cocoa Day 2019
The commemoration of Indonesia Cocoa Day 2019 or the 8th anniversary of Indonesia Cocoa Day, is organized in a series of activities starting from September 17, 2019 in Jakarta until the peak of the commemoration on October 5, 2019 in Solok district, West Sumatra.

The theme of the commemoration of Indonesian Cocoa Day is “My Chocolate My Culture My Indonesia” while the sub-theme of Indonesian Cocoa Day 2019 is “Growing the Corporate Culture of Cocoa Farmers”.
As in previous years, the commemoration of Indonesian Cocoa Day is carried out by all parties in coordination and synergy with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesian Cocoa Board, Cocoa Sector Association, large-scale cocoa processing industry, small and medium scale cocoa industry, Coffee and Cocoa Research Center and Cocoa Farmers. The determination of Indonesia Cocoa Day is based on the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture Number 347/Kpts/PD.320/10/2012 on the Determination of Indonesian Cocoa Day dated September 16, 2012.
The commemoration of Indonesian Cocoa Day 2019 was filled with several activities, namely:
Exhibition of cocoa and chocolate products on September 17th – 20th, 2019 at the Industrial Plaza of the Ministry of Industry Jakarta.
The theme of the 2019 cocoa and chocolate product exhibition is “Proud of Indonesian Chocolate”.
High-production cocoa farm competition. The parameters assessed in this competition include:
type of clone planted, garden maintenance, harvesting, post-harvest, productivity, number of fruits per tree, number of seeds per fruit, number of seeds per 100 gram weight, marketing, partnerships, farmer group activities.

The peak of the commemoration of Indonesian Cocoa Day 2019 was centered in Solok Regency, West Sumatra Province on October 5, 2019.

– Exhibition of processed cocoa products by SMEs in West Sumatra region.
– Quality cocoa fruit competition from cocoa producing districts in West Sumatra Province.
– Morning walk together
– Drinking chocolate together organized by PT Bumi Tangerang
– Field meeting
– Cocoa talk show, themed “Plantation Corporations Towards Increasing National Cocoa Production and Productivity”
The field meeting was held at the farmer’s cocoa farm in Jorong Galanggang Tengah, Nagari Sulayo, Kubung sub-district. The field meeting was filled with events:
– Saresehan between cocoa farmers and Director General of Plantation, Regent of Solok, West Sumatra Regional Government, Director of PT RPN, Director of Puslitkoka.
– Planting of OSC cocoa seedlings, HCC 02 Clone
– Cocoa Harvest together
– Technology showcase, by Puslitkoka, from upstream to downstream followed by the handover of cocoa seedlings.
